When you are depressed, something as easy and quick as putting the dishes away can feel almost impossible. Picking up the first dish is comically easy, but you can't reach it through the bars of your mental prison.
Mental prisons are made out of thoughts. Thoughts can trap your brain, but your body can pass right through them.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath, feeling your body from inside. Now walk it through those bars into the kitchen and pick up that first dish.
